Aftermath of Delusions

Published in The Lived Experience for Mental Health Week by Burmac Publishing in 2016

Standing in the wake of the delusional aftermath

clarity has taken its toll on my emotions

A foreboding fear extends from my stomach

as I remember telling people

that I was the Leader of the Age of Aquarius

A two-thousand-year period of enlightenment

where I was going to make everyone psychic

The symptom has now crumbled away

leaving me to face the real world

as my hands climb up my face thinking of the embarrassment

What am I supposed to do with this rubble?

How am I going to rebuild after this disaster?

What about the people I told during my episode?

Looking around at the surrounding ruins

where I now have to rebuild with people knowing I am crazy

I know I must face the reality that in the land of fantasy it was the psychosis
